We had a lovely peaceful retreat, the views from the cottage are stunning.
Having also an ancient stone circle opposite the front door. Surrounded by the local wildlife, and crisp clean air. The cottage owners were friendly and helpful. A little piece of heaven, Thank you, Barry and Gina King.

Mr King,

The Bothy is so welcoming, warm and cozy, it’s well equipped and the log burner in the sitting room adds to the character and warmth (logs and kindling supplied) Situated in a remote spot, a few miles along Glen Esk, the views are breathtaking! A few miles further along the Glen and it’s possible to walk in the Cairngorm National Park. We were lucky to have snow so the views and countryside around us was spectacular! Seeing a Golden Eagle just ahead of us made the entire trip worthwhile! Castles are abundant in this area and access to towns very easy. This was an amazing holiday for us, we choose to visit Scotland in January/February each year as the snow makes the landscape so beautiful the roads are excellent and a lot less busy. We highly recommend the Bothy. .... and just wish it was ours!

Mrs Gazzard,

A lovely warm and cosy cottage.
Would definitely consider visiting again. We were there for New Year & the owners dropped us in a bottle of Champagne, very thoughtful touch.

Mrs Poole,

The Bothy is a little piece of heaven.
I cannot recommend this cottage enough. The cottage is so cozy and contains everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The views from your front door are out of this world. If you want to go somewhere to just get away from everyday life this is the cottage for you. Stunning.

Mrs Raper,

We had a wonderful holiday at the Bothy.
The location is superb. We arrived in the dark so didn't see the amazing views from the cottage until the next morning - a real wow moment. We had great weather so explored Glen Esk thoroughly in its glorious Autumn colours. A very special place indeed. The cottage is cosy, warm and well-equipped. Quiet and peaceful. Great place for relaxing, walking and stargazing

Miss Duckworth,

The bothy was the most beautiful place to completely relax and unwind.
The views were outstanding and we experienced birds of prey above us whilst sitting enjoys glass of wine . There is so much to do around and about . All the drives are breathtaking. We even saw leaping salmon which is practically on your doorstep in the local river . A truly wonderful time spent in Scotland. The bothy just made it perfect.

The Bothy is set in a wonderful area, so peaceful and beautiful to see out of the window, we were able to visit plenty of interesting places and still more that we have not covered we are certainly looking forward to a return visit in the future

Mr Hampton,

Beautiful setting.
Excellent communication ahead of the stay with the owner - very clear directions and responsive to emails. Lots to do in the local area and some really lovely walks. Met some lovely local ladies on a Gin tasting afternoon at Persie's Gin Distillary. Recommend House of Dun, the Blue Door Walk, Loch Lee walk, Edzell Castle (not to be underestimated from the look of it from the drive up to it). Within an hour's drive of Balmoral, Glamis and Edradour Whiskey Distillary. Stunning scenery on the drive. We ordered our meat for the week from the local butchers in Edzell - very helpful and friendly. Lots of information in the Bothy about the local surroundings and things to do. Well stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed.
